About This Guide
Live Music Tokyo is an independent, ground-level guide to the city's live houses, rock bars, and jazz clubs — built by someone who actually goes to these places, not scraped from a database.
What this is. This site is a running, expanding directory of standing live-music venues in Tokyo — live houses, rock bars, and jazz clubs that host performances on a regular, ongoing basis. It started with a handful of well-known Roppongi and Akasaka rooms and has grown outward, area by area, as new venues get researched and added.
How venues get chosen. Every venue on this site hosts live music regularly, not as a one-off event space. Coverage currently focuses on Tokyo, with plans to expand to other cities over time. Venues aren't paid to appear here, and inclusion isn't for sale.
How pages get written. Each venue page combines direct research (official sites, verified public listings, and site visits where possible) with an honest synthesis of what other visitors say publicly on Google Maps and similar platforms — always labeled as such, never presented as this site's own first-person review unless it explicitly says so. English and Japanese versions of each page are researched and written independently rather than translated from one another.
Corrections welcome. Hours change, venues close, prices go up. If you run one of the places listed here, or you spotted something out of date, the correction form goes straight to the person running this site.
How this site is supported. This guide is a labor of love first. As it grows, it may carry a small amount of advertising and/or affiliate links to help cover hosting and research costs — see the Privacy Policy for details on how that works and what data, if any, is collected.
